Doris Hale Sanders published her first book in 2003, since then she has continued to write and has published 29 books. Doris has a background in writing, having worked for the Breckenridge Herald News and for a local radio station. She said creative writing was an adventure. Not only does Doris write fiction she has also published 2 non-fiction books one about her parents who were both born in Kentucky in 1902. The second book is about her growing up in Kentucky. Doris has a shelf dedicated to her in the library here at Fern Terra.

Not only does Doris write she is also a self-taught piano player. She plays at dinner every night for our residents, and she also plays every Monday over in suites 2.
